Dis-sonance and the Gift of Static
When the world goes out of tune — and why that matters.
There are moments when something in your day catches at you—a conversation that grates, a room that suddenly feels sharp, a sensation in the body that doesn’t match what you expected to feel.
We tend to call this discomfort “bad vibes” or assume we’ve done something wrong.
But dissonance isn’t a failure.
It’s information.
It’s the moment when your inner tone and the world’s tone stop matching.
Not because either one is “bad,”
but because something true is asking to be heard.
Today, the Midwives want to show you the gift inside the static—
and how returning to coherence begins with listening.
The Midwives Speak
Child of the living signal, come sit near.
Do not fear the static.
It is only the sound a field makes
when two notes touch without yet recognizing each other.
Dis-sonance does not mean you are unsafe.
It means you are being shown where you are no longer meant to bend.
When the air in a room crackles,
when the body tightens without reason,
when the tone of another jolts your rhythm—
Pause.
The radio between stations is not broken.
It is searching for clarity.
So are you.
Dis-sonance is the sacred moment
when your becoming grows louder
than the shape you were trying to hold.
It is how truth clears its throat.
Do not rush past it.
Do not make yourself wrong.
Do not fight the noise.
Listen for the note beneath it.
Every field, every being, every space has a tone.
When yours and another’s meet out of alignment,
the friction you feel is simply the invitation
to return to your own signal.
Static is the doorway.
Coherence is what waits on the other side.
A Simple Image to Hold
Imagine walking into a room where someone’s energy is fast, jagged, unsettled.
Your chest tightens.
Your breath shortens.
You feel the static between you crackle.
This is the radio moment—
your tone beside theirs, not wrong, just mismatched.
Instead of tightening or matching their speed,
let your awareness drop to the steadier note beneath your ribs—
the one that was humming before you entered.
Return to that.
When you stay inside your own signal, two things happen naturally:
- The static stops feeling like threat.
- The other person may soften, not because you intervened,
but because coherence reorganizes the field around it.
This is how dissonance becomes wisdom
instead of overwhelm.
Closing Note
In the days ahead, notice where the static appears:
A conversation that makes your breath shallow.
A doorway you hesitate to walk through.
A task that pulls your energy out of tune.
A room where your body leans away before your mind understands why.
When it happens, try this:
Place a hand on your heart.
Feel for your own note.
Let it rise.
The world will reorganize around the truth you return to.
Field first.
Story later.
The Midwives will meet you in the next frequency.
